One of our go to Cotes du Rhone's due too it's pure value for money attraction.
This segment is getting more and more expensive. Caused by a general lifting of quality and pedigree every year, poor exchange rates and the overall opportunity some domains have to lift their price due to a lift in demand and quality.
From the vineyard of Saint-Roman-De-Malegarde, chalky clay- limestone hillsides, with a North-West exposure offering a nice freshness in the mouth. Bright dark garnet color with purplish highlights. At the first nose, we have a wine with a beautiful aromatic complexity. After aeration, it reveals notes of black fruits, blackberries and cassis followed by peppery notes and leather. On the palate the tannins are melted and silky, we find the aromas of black fruits and spices that we had on the nose.
"A 70-30 tank-aged blend of Grenache and Syrah, the 2017 Cotes du Rhone Cuvee Confidence is a bit tannic and stern compared to most of its peers, but it delivers ample blackberry fruit leavened by dashes of allspice and clove. Medium to full-bodied, it finishes crisp and firm, with the grip to cut through fatty meat dishes." Wine Advocate
