Words don't do this deal justice but we will chuck in a few anyway to wet the appetite...
This has been offered at clearance pricing which is remarkable considering what this terrific purchase offers. Port is one of the greatest fine wines in the word. Let us repeat that "Port is one of the greatest fine wine buys in the world". Priced the way it is here there is nothing that matches this for return on investment. Modern vintage Ports are no longer wines that are sort of lost in translation, they are bright, layered and complex bottlings that sure, can be aged for decades but they also can be enjoyed on release.
2016 was a magnificent vintage and to be able to offer the Croft in a 375ml format is even more special and attainable. The notes below deliver you the reinforcement you require to purchase a few bottles. The dollars are not much more than a decent Pinot. Buy a dozen and we will throw in its own wooden box.
"Extremely perfumed with dark-berry and currant aromas. Hints of earth and spices. Full-bodied, round and medium sweet. Hints of resin. Opulent yet restrained. Shows ripe and beautiful fruit with clarity. " James Suckling - 97 Points
"Juicy, luscious and with excellent ripe fruit, this is a balanced wine with a fine future. Its tannins are almost sweet to match the sweetness of the berry fruits. As it ages, this will be a lovely wine. Drink from 2027". 95/100 ROGER VOSS. Wine Enthusiast.
Intense purple ruby core with vivid purple rim. The nose displays the ripe strawberry and blackcurrant fruitiness and resiny notes of rock rose and eucalyptus that are the essence of the Croft Vintage Port style. The palate opens with a surge of rich berry fruit flavour and is supported by a dense mesh of close-knit tannins. Although the wine displays some of the plump, rubenesque character of prior Croft vintages, the accent here is on symmetry and finesse. The characteristically exuberant fruit and heady herbal aromas are carefully modulated and the wine is classical in its proportions. An elegant and aromatic Vintage Port, perfectly poised between opulence and restraint. Winery
