A real treat of a wine that will surprise for its rounded and open appeal.
Les Fourneaux is a Premier Cru vineyard site on the eastern edge of Chablis, located in a valley near the small village of Fleys. The vineyard is named for its warm meso-climate (fourneaux means "furnace"), and the Chardonnay-based wines produced here tend to have ripe, tropical flavors alongside their intense minerality.
Winery note: "This subtle and delicate wine has a very aromatic bouquet. We discover notes of flowers (acacia) and rose petals, accompanied by a aroma while lightness of vanilla. It is a very round wine on the palate, with a tip of acidity allowing it to keep its freshness.
'The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Fourneaux is very promising, unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, green apple, white flowers and orange rind. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, its ample attack segueing into a tensile, incisive and structured mid-palate, concluding with a chalky finish. This will reward some bottle age.' 93/100 Wine Advocate
