Giesen The Brothers Chardonnay 2020

We welcome this back to our floors and so we should as it offers an intensity of flavour that few do for the price.

Giesen have invested a lot to make sure it delivers on taste.

"Aromas are bright with white peach, meyer lemon, toasted hazelnut and subtle flint. The palate is rich and concentrated with bright zest balancing the fresh sweetness. Ripe lemon and peach flavours, with grapefruit on the finish.

A blend of outstanding vineyard sites located in the Southern and Wairau Valley sub regions. An exceptional parcel of wine from the acclaimed Clayvin vineyard rounds out this wonderful expression of Marlborough Chardonnay.

The wine was fermented then matured in predominately French oak hogsheads and puncheons along with 1000L German oak Fuder barrels for 10 months. Oak age varied from one year old barrels, with the majority three year old(78%). This selection was to ensure the wine had subtle oak character which allowed the fruit to shine. The wine was fined and filtered for bottling." Winery notes
