Putangi Pinot Noir 2020

5 Stars and Top 10 at the recent Cuisine Pinot Nori tasting.

We have had this little gem instore for a couple of vintages now.  But we cannot be secretive anymore (to save you some), since it was very well received in the latest Cuisine tasting.  Made by Wet Jacket wines, this Pinot has so much to like. Especially the price.

"A wonderful aromatic lift immediately on the nose of black cherries and currants with dried herbs and a spicy stemmy character. The mid-weighted palate has more juicy cherries and lots of oak toast. The fruit serves to balance the firm tannins and pungent spice in this richly textured palate with a seemingly endless finish." 5 stars and Top 10, Cuisine Magazine

Putangi means many things to these guys but to us the wines represents great buying for a Central Pinot.

"Ruby red with violet hues. Bright aromatics of ripe plum, dark cherry, leather, tobacco, smoky spice, and dried herbs. Sweet red fruit entry of redcurrant, plum, blackberry, spice, and nice oak char. The palate is long and rich with silky tannins and a long mineral finish." Winery
