Reduced in price but by now means reduced in quality. This is a bargain for Marlborough Pinot.
”Cherries and roses, black currant and dark baking spices. A soft savoury fruit layer with a fine silty minerality adds complexity and a rose floral note adds charm and elegance. Flavours of strawberry and cherry on the palate with fine tannins and medium+ acidity. Barrel flavours are mild with a gentle toasty and brown spice complexity. Drinking well now, better in 2022 through 2026+.” MAY 21. 93/100 points, Cameron Douglas
"This pinot noir is a lighter-bodied style with soft tannins and bright fruit. Juicy red fruit and a hint of spice make this a perfect wine for food.
The fruit was either hand-harvested or machine harvested, then destemmed into open vats for cold soak followed by a warm wild ferment. Traditional hand-plunging was used to manage the cap, and the wine underwent malolactic fermentation while ageing in French oak barrels.
Soils are chiefly tight clays, and some stony alluvium and moderately well drained sandy loams. With standard trellis with vertical shoot positioning, pruned to two canes. Vines are trimmed closely, well tucked, leaf plucked and cluster-thinned for balance" Winery
