We recently tried this old vine Syrah from the South of France and it took us by surprise.
It pours dark with a clear salute to its origin. Dark fruits weld themselves within a juicy and tempting frame. A sure thing for a slow cooked meal and a long weekend. A smile inducing glass of red that is just presented and packaged so well.
Located north of Corbières appellation, the domaine spread over 180 hectares, 60 hectares of which in the Corbières AOP and 30 hectares in the IGP Aude Hauterive.
Protected from the winds by forest the vines are planted on gravel terraces with a southerly aspect. The low yielding Syrah and Grenache vines are 30+ years old with the Carignan being well over 80.
