Gold medal at the NZIWS
"Intense red color. The nose recalls plums, red fruits and licorice with hints of vanilla, coffee and cocoa . On the palate it is full- bodied , balanced and elegant .
The grapes are harvested by hand in 20 kg crates, then de-stemmed and crushed. These remain in the tanks for a week at a low temperature to carry out the pre-fermentation maceration. Alcoholic fermentation follows at 22-26 ° C for about 15-20 days with frequent pumping over. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is decanted and the malolactic fermentation is triggered.
The wine ages in wood for 6 months before being bottled.A prime example of Primitivo at its best; soft and velvety, with rich, concentrated flavours of red berries, plums, vanilla and spice, hints of coffee and cinnamon." Winery
