Domain Road wines seem to have brightness and appeal which suit aromatic styles so well.
This PG is no different with bright aromatics followed by freshness and varietal appeal on the palate.
"The fruit was hand harvested on 2nd & 6th April 2020 and whole bunch pressed before cold settling for 2 days. The resulting juice was then racked off and inoculated with selected wine yeasts to undergo fermentation in a stainless steel tank (75%) and older oak barrels (25%). The tank fermentation was stopped to retain some residual sweetness. The two portions were combined prior to bottling.
The colour of pale straw in the glass our Pinot Gris has a lush texture. Aromas of ripe pear, melon, nectarine, peach, raspberry, camarillo and feijoa are detected on the nose. These are followed by a plush entry of ripe stone fruit, nacho pear, pawpaw and citrus on the palate. Mouth filling with a full mid-palate balanced with bright mineral acidity and a long finish of pear and nectarine." Winery
"Taut and racy with bright-green, lime-acid edginess, salted citrus and green-skinned pear. The acidity is sweet and chewy with a lively sweetness providing balance, vibrancy and lift. An extremely long and eloquent example of gris that holds great tension all the way to the finish line." - Cuisine March 2021
