A soft and inviting Red from Sicily.  Think Pinot Noir with a touch of Shiraz thrown in.

Distinguished by its depth and intense ruby red colour, it emanates a broad and complex aroma. Mainly, from ripe fruit and red berries. In the mouth, it shows a defined structure due to its tannic nature and its mellowness.

If you love full-bodied dry reds like Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah then Nero d’Avola (“nair-oh davo-la”) is your buddy. This lesser-known Sicilian grape variety deserves more recognition as a wine to be taken seriously. Wine Folly
