McArthur Ridge Brass Knocker Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021

$22.99

We have obtained a re release of the 2021 award winning wine so make the most of this incredibly well priced & well made Central Pinot Noir.

McArthur Ridge vineyards are sited on an elevated plateau, planted across a set of gentle northern slopes to capture maximum warmth.

Set at altitude, the Alexandra basin is the southernmost Pinot Noir producing area in the world, the cool climate [-12.5 degrees], infertile soils and hot [42 degrees] but short-lived summers of Central Otago provide a pristine environment for winegrowing, especially Pinot Noir.

Buy of the week - Bob Campbell, The Real Review

How do you make and sell a recognisable Central Otago pinot noir for the modest sum?

Part of the answer must be to make lots of it. Certainly, the McArthur Ridge vineyard was viticulture on a grand scale when I last visited it some considerable time ago. The wine shows no sign of being stretched or pushed. It is simply a good drink.

McArthur Ridge’s entry-level wine delivers more than it’s price suggests it might. Pretty cherry and violet flavours with a seasoning of spice. There is a touch of wood-smoke suggesting clumsy oak but the wine delivers plenty for its humble price tag. (Screwcap)

delicious and long.”
