Domaine d'Andezon Cotes du Rhone Village 2022
A dark, juicy and cuddly Cotes du Rhone Villages!
90% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre
Produced by one of the most renowned co-ops in France, Vignerons d’Estezargues, near the city of Avignon. A co-op is a well established structure of French wine production. It’s essentially a way for a number of producers to pool their resources and select fruit to make a quality wine on a larger scale. There is a lot of bang for your buck here. It’s got all the power and structure you’d expect from a Rhône Valley wine. Teaming with blueberries, dark fruits and hints of dark olive tones. It’s bold and rounded without being cumbersome.
A full-bodied gem from one of France's most renowned co-ops near Avignon. This Syrah is a perfect representation of the synergy in a cooperative—where individual producers unite to create something extraordinary. Glowingly endorsed by much of the wine industry, Andezon has been repeatedly hailed by Robert Parker as one of the best value wines in the world.
"A textured, layered natural wine; very open and giving already. Dark chocolate-coated black cherries and damsons, rosemary and thyme. Succulent texture, with lightly chewy tannins, it flirts with some of the wilder nuances of low-intervention winemaking. It's not as polished as some, but it's very much a wine of place, rather than winemaking, and one with real complexity and texture." - 92/100 Matt Walls, Decanter
