This is our go to NV Champagne when it comes to 'bang for buck'.
Champagne de Castelnau was founded in 1916 and got its name in honour of General Castelnau. It belonged to a family from Epernay for many years, and in the 1930s it was a favourite of many royal families and the rich and beautiful as well as the French Army. In 2003 it was purchased by the Coopérative Regional des Vins de Champagne headquartered in Reims who have access to 900 hectares of vineyards across 155 crus. Castelnau’s long established reputation for its top quality range and extensive lees aging positions it as the company’s leading quality label.
"Chardonnay dominates here, balancing the fruitiness of the Pinots. Rich and balanced on the palate with delicate aromatic notes, bags of complexity and personality. A spontaneous, easy to drink champagne, perfect for any occasion, day or night." Winery notes
