Our most striking Malbec is back in store.
Malbec does not always have a sense of pedigree attached to very bottle. This is where wines from Riccitelli is an exception. The label is brilliant as it places you in humorous mood but the wine inside could not be more serious.
"Malbec is the Argentinian flagship varietal, we want our Malbec to be a fresh representative of its kind. That’s why our harvests start in the begining of March and they end by the first week of April. From our traditional sites in Lujan de Cuyo till the heights of Uco Valley, passing through clay soils up to limestones soils we look for freshness and purity of a vibrant Malbec. We vinify destemmed grapes and whole clusters at a temperature of 25º to 27º Degrees Centigrade during several weeks. Its aging continues in concrete vats." Winery
"Superb density of colour featuring an impenetrable inky black heart and an equally deep bright dark purple black hue. The nose is a fragrant mix of violets, ripe blueberries, blackcurrants and liquorice which intermingle with provincial herb and spicy vanillin cedar notes. Medium bodied, rich succulent dark cherry, blueberry and liquorice fruits are layered across the palate underpinned by dried herb, inky earth and spice characters. Finishes with a youthful vibrancy. Polished yet sturdy tannins leaning into a long bright blue fruited aftertaste." 94/100, Nick's Wine merchants.
